The Lorraine Foundation encourages genuine educational, academic, cultural and research engagement with the artistic legacy of Lorraine Saltmarsh and the educational resources published by the Foundation.

At the same time, we are committed to protecting the integrity of those works and ensuring they are not misused, misrepresented or exploited.

Copyright Ownership

Unless otherwise stated, all content published on this Website is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights.

This includes:

  • artwork images and reproductions;

  • artist biographies;

  • artist statements;

  • artwork descriptions and catalogue information;

  • educational resources;

  • publications and research papers;

  • logos, branding and design elements;

  • photographs and original written content.

The Lorraine Foundation holds and administers copyright and legacy rights in authorised reproductions of Lorraine Saltmarsh's artworks, biography, artist statements, educational materials and associated legacy content pursuant to a formal Intellectual Property, Likeness and Legacy Agreement.

All rights not expressly granted under this Policy are reserved.

Permitted Educational Use

Students, teachers, researchers, schools, universities, libraries and educational organisations may use Foundation Content without charge provided that:

  • the use is non-commercial;

  • appropriate attribution is provided;

  • content is reproduced accurately;

  • the content is not altered in a misleading way;

  • the use supports education, scholarship, research, criticism or review;

  • the use complies with applicable laws.

Attribution

Where practical, users should include:

Prohibited Uses

Foundation Content must not be used:

  • for commercial purposes without written permission;

  • in advertising or product promotion;

  • to create merchandise or products for sale;

  • in any defamatory, derogatory or misleading manner;

  • to misrepresent Lorraine Saltmarsh, her works, her legacy or The Lorraine Foundation;

  • in connection with unlawful, hateful or exploitative content;

  • in a manner likely to cause reputational harm to the Foundation or associated persons.

Commercial Licensing

Requests for commercial publication, exhibition, licensing or reproduction should be submitted directly to The Lorraine Foundation.

Enforcement

The Lorraine Foundation reserves all rights to protect and enforce its intellectual property and may require removal, correction or cessation of unauthorised uses.
